Charles loved to spend cool evenings by the fireplace, reading his favourite lecture. The rich library
filled one of the interior’s corners, standing right next to the commode made of the same wood. The
oval rug trimmed with white fringe at the edges laid on the floor, and the walls were decorated with
oil paintings in gold frames. The jeweler adored art and was a very sentimental person. He often
came back in memories to the old days, browsing his photo album, covered by leather. Charles
wrote letters to those who were closest to him, and he also read magazines related to architecture
and interior design. His living room and the rest of tenement house were arrangement only by his
own, and every detail was part of a sophisticated whole.
The jeweler was in a hurry when he finished his work and he could go home. He had to prepare
dinner because he was waiting for special guests tonight… The place where he invited his friends
was a living room, which was also served as a dining room. Furniture in Victorian style
characteristic of the times of Louis XVI, were decorated with a noble collection of porcelain.
Strong walls, wooden parquet, oriental rugs and golden accents - these all perfectly complemented
the romantic character of the interior.
